Worked a shoot covering a band that gets put together at random and performs live at a venue here in DC.
Always glad to show off my strange booming positions. I swear it's usually comfortable.
@soundbase.app always has me covered on RF coordination even in these somewhat minimal location gigs, making coordination among multiple A1s with wireless from multiple different manufacturers in many different complex environments a breeze.
@wisycom makes it easy as ever to fit in to any environment- when I coordinate with other manufacturers gear I always coordinate that first knowing my Wisy will always find it's place.
@deitymicrophones PR-2 is a new addition to my kit, it came in handy working as a wireless timecode jammable recorder being able to pick up the board feed. I love having it in my kit as it can also act as another wireless TC Generator to pair with my TC-1s.
Some interview and piano capture from this past week.
@dpa_microphones 4099s make another triumphant return not only making capturing incredibly dynamic classical piano playing but also being so low profile, I am guaranteed to find my spot out of the shot.
While mentioning DPA always love to shoutout my 4061s always providing the highest quality no matter the SPL.
Was a busy week for me again.
A couple of pictures from mixing some IEMs last night, a couple of cool great things to nerd out about in that world like using my @sennheiser 416s as audience mics to provide some nice ambience and remove the weirdness of having noise isolating in ear monitors, changes the game as always.
Using @soundbase.app to coordinate in house Sennheiser 6000s with rented @shure PSM1000s makes building wide RF coordination simple big or small.
Mixing on @yamahaproaudio Rivages a couple of times makes every mix shine a bit easier, there is no other desk I have used that has such lovely on board processing, the stars of the week are the classic Bricasti Verb, the new Dynamic EQ 6, and the magic of PSE shines through as always.
Also included a shot from another gig this week working a couple of raining outdoor days.
Had a lovely time doing a shoot for Google yesterday, got to use some @dpa_microphones 4099s into my @wisycom MTP61s and had a breeze of a time picking up some car B- Roll. When the gear is great, the job is easier.
a little bit of everything
From recording on a docu-style project out of town for a couple of days to working monitors for a benefit rock show to recording a comedy show to mixing a remote news broadcast to mixing a blues rock band to being a house system / tech for a shrek the musical.
A BTS look at a Netflix comedy special shoot from last year.
A Total of 17 mics rigged to capture audience reaction and laughter.
4 channels of in-house @sennheiser 6000s HHs for talent. Running two separate racks the other for complete power and antenna redundancy.
This was an incredibly long busy week last November but this project was definitely a highlight.
